CHW Careers Site Re-Design and Campaign
Type: Graphic Design, Marketing Date: 2018
CHW’s recruiting process needed a revamp. There were positions at the company that weren’t getting filled because of a lack of promotion and information displayed both on the website and on social media, so we sought to promote CHW’s career opportunities in a way that showed all the different ways that CHW invests and cares for its employees.
In the end, we created a new careers landing page and launched a digital campaign. These efforts led to a 50% increase in the page’s traffic. CHW’s recruiting presence increased as applicants visited a careers page that explained why they should work at CHW, rather than why CHW should have them there.
New landings.
Our goal was to make prospective applicants understand the company they wanted to work for.
The first course of action was to re-design the Careers page on the CHW website. It originally focused too much on what an employee can do for the company, rather than what CHW could do for the employee. Our goal was to make sure prospective applicants understood the company they were going to work for and knew that they would have what they need to produce quality work.
Information Breakdown + Visual Design
To establish the type of content we wanted to show on the page, we reviewed existing hiring landing pages. After evaluating our tools, we created a list of six items the page would need to touch on:
Benefits
Company culture
Company values
Location
Community involvement
Career advancement
This list became an opportunity to transform the original boxes into visual pieces. I created the six icons on the page (see below image, left) to represent each item that was going to be talked about. They needed to reflect the company’s brand and color scheme while also catching users’ attention as they scroll through the page. The second set of icons represented the company core values (see below image, right).
Digital Campaign.
Next, we focused on promoting CHW’s careers and leading applicants to the new page. Our goal was to increase website traffic and exposure to the company’s career opportunities.
We created visuals to use on any social media posts, emails, and job advertisements. On top of that, we focused our digital advertising efforts on careers by setting up Google Adwords ads for the most poignant positions
